Unsurprisingly we looked at the theme of change management this week! But from a few different angles. Common threads included the recognition of the inevitability of change, the challenges associated with managing change including psychology and emotion, and the importance of adapting strategies to navigate through changes effectively.

Followed by It's not you: ever wondered why change is so daunting? on 4 March 2024. The prospect of change can immediately evoke apprehension and resistance. We finished the week with Market Corrections in a Flexible Industry: Fine-Tuning Change Management on 6 March 2024. The market for change management has often found itself in a state of fluctuation, something like a seesaw swinging between demand and supply. Amidst the corrections, one recurring theme has stood out: the variability of rates for contract change managers. This flexibility speaks volumes about the underlying issues within the industry, highlighting the reasons for occasional market corrections and the need for intentional fine-tuning or disruptive innovation.
I'll bring to your attention again Managing Motivation through Change, published 26 February 2024, because this contributes another insight to the theme that emerged this week. Managing our motivation through change requires self-awareness, resilience, and a proactive approach to emerging challenges. By acknowledging your feelings, setting clear goals, and focusing on what you can control you harness the power of your existing motivation levels. Then, by finding meaning and purpose and cultivating resilience you establish a keep-going mindset. By creating a supportive environment, celebrating progress, and practicing self-compassion, you can provide the fuel that will get you across the line.
Motivation plays a crucial role in navigating change successfully. Its only one of the emotions we can experience during change, and managing motivation can bring yet another layer of challenge to the landscape. Whether it's personal or global change, motivation levels can impact significantly on how well individuals adapt.
