Saturday Catch-Up: Leadership

Effective leadership and the ability to navigate change are critical for personal, professional and organisational success. The articles in our Saturday Catch-Up this week are brought together by the common theme of Leadership. In these blog posts we emphasise the importance of nurturing teams, promoting healthy work environments, leading by example, and championing strong communication. Let’s delve into these themes and explore how they intersect in the realm of leadership.

  1. Starting in February 15, 2024 was Nurturing Teams Through Change: A Guide for People Leaders. As leaders, whether in small business, teams, not for profit or multi-national organisations, our primary mission is to facilitate growth and development. We're entrusted with guiding our business and our people through an ever-changing landscape of challenges and opportunities. Do you know what drives you as a People Leader? Answer the questions in our blog to find out.

  2. Published earlier this week on 18 March, 2024 we looked into Insights for Change, Communication and Leadership. Anyone who has worked through organisational change will recognise first-hand how organisations face a dual challenge of adapting to change while maintaining effective communication and leadership. In this article we hope to inspire you further to deliver successful transformations through that powerful combination of communication and leadership.

  3. From 15 March, 2024, I need a hero! Why we find effective leadership exciting. It's never too late to work on essential leadership skills, and there's always room for improvement. And we know that leadership is crucial for driving organisational change and success. Effective leadership is not just a desirable trait - it’s an absolute necessity. For seasoned executives, team leaders, or aspiring managers, your skill as a leader can be the actual reason why people get out of bed in the morning.

  4. Leadership Essentials: Master the Coaching Response. This subscription only blog was published 15 January 2024 and provides skills transfer in how to deal with emotional responses in others. As adults, we may have developed a tendency to react to the emotions and problems of others in the same way we were dealt with as children. Depending on how we learned to deal with emotions - and any compensatory skills we've developed since - we may not naturally react in a way conducive to coaching others through difficult times. Adaptable to any situation involving humans of any age, background, shape or size!

  5. Finally we go to February 8, 2024 and The criticality of Change Sponsorship: start here. A Change Manager without a sponsor is a nonsensical proposition. Getting sponsorship right is a conversation needed right from the outset. Unfortunately it's all too common for a Change Sponsor to recognise they have a change coming up, hire a Change Manager and feel like that's the end of it - job done.

As we reflect on the themes shared in these articles, it becomes evident that leadership is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Good leaders are adaptable, empathetic, emotionally intelligent, great communicators and forward-thinking.
